He is the director of Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science Murmansk Marine Biological Institute of the Kola Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He is the Member of the Presidium of the RAS. He is a member of Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the problems of military history
