Biography
Mary Beth Hanss is general counsel for SAP in North America. In this role, she manages the legal and contracts department supporting all business in the U.S and Canada. Mary Beth came to SAPin 1997, where she initially served through 2002 as legal counsel for the newly formed SAP subsidiary focused on the U.S. public sector. During this time, Mary Beth was instrumental in establishing and building the new subsidiary, including the legal, contracts, and proposals departments, ultimately leading to her promotion to assistant general counsel in 1999 and vice president in 2000. After moving to the SAP America legal department in 2003, Mary Beth was promoted to senior vice president and general counsel for SAP Americain 2008. Before joining SAP, she was employed as an attorney with Oracle Corporation, Amdahl Corporation (nowasubsidiary of Fujitsu), and the law firm of Kowalczyk, Deery & Soja. Mary Beth received a bachelor’s degree in English from Union College in Schenectady, NewYork, and her Juris Doctor from Albany Law School in Albany, NewYork.
