Since 2008 - is the director of the construction-architectural and road institute of the Saratov State Technical University named after Gagarin Yu.A. Since 2012 - head of the department "Building materials and technologies". Scientific activity is carried out in the field of research and development of scientific foundations for the production of building composite materials with a set of specified properties, taking into account the laws of their structure formation and chemical resistance, resource-energy-efficient technologies, engineering ecology in construction. The graduate school is functioning effectively, under the scientific guidance of prof. Ivashchenko Yu.G. 29 candidates of technical sciences were trained. The Povolzhsky regional educational and research center is head of the problems of the construction complex of the Saratov State Technical University. More than 25 scientific and practical tasks for the region for the period 1998-2012. was carried out by a team under his leadership with significant technical and economic and social effects. One of the significant developments is the creation of territorial construction norms (TSN) for construction heat engineering for the Saratov region in accordance with the requirements of SNiP II-3-79 "Construction Heat Engineering".
