Education and Career 1968 - graduated from secondary school and entered the historical faculty of the Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky (SSU). 1973 - graduated from the University and was sent to work in the Astrakhan State Pedagogical named after SM. Kirov, where he worked as an assistant, then - a senior lecturer in the Faculty of History until 1980. 1980-2009 - taught at the Department of Ancient History of Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky. 1983 - defended his thesis "Socio-political role of the Roman army (44-31 BC)" for the degree of candidate of historical sciences at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin). 1991-2009 - was the head of the Department of Ancient History. 1995 - defended the thesis "Early Principate: Military and Political Aspect" for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences at the Saratov State University named after N.G. Chernyshevsky. 1997 - awarded the academic title of professor. He was a member of the editorial board of intercollegiate scientific collections "From the History of Ancient Society" (Nizhny Novgorod, UNN), "Antiquitas Aeterna" (Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov). 1980-2009 - was a member of the editorial board of the intercollegiate scientific collection "The Ancient World and Archeology" (Saratov, SSU), a member of the Dissertation Council D 212.243.03 at SSU. 2002-2009 - was the responsible editor of the intercollegiate scientific collection "Ancient World and Archeology" (Saratov, SSU). 2009-2013 - worked as a professor of the department "Culturology" Saratov State Technical University named after Gagarin Yu.A. Since 2013 , he is a professor at the Department of History of the Fatherland and Culture of Saratov State Technical University named after Gagarin Yu.A.
