Biography

He was born on October 13, 1948 in the city of Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk region. In 1974 he graduated from the Magnitogorsk Mining and Metallurgical Institute majoring in "Metal Processing with Pressure", in 1994 received a second diploma in the field of "Organization of Production Management." He began his career at the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works in 1967 as a fitter in the repair shop for metallurgical equipment. He worked as an operator, foreman, foreman, shift supervisor, shop manager, head of the production and supply department. In 1991 he was appointed chief engineer - first deputy general director. Since 1997, he headed OJSC MMK as the General Director. Since April 2005 - Chairman of the Board of Directors. From 2006 to 2014 - President of LLC " Managing Company MMK. "Doctor of Technical Sciences (1998), Honorary Professor of MISiS (2002), Academician of the Russian Academy of Quality Problems, is the author of many scientific researches, technical developments, scientific works." Laureate of the prizes of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology (2001 and 2002), was awarded the title of laureate of the national Peter the Great Prize "For Outstanding Contribution to the Russian Economy" in 2000.
