Biography

Mr. Frederic Herren is Chief Operating Officer, Africa at SGS Ltd since April 2014. From 2006 till April 2014, he was also Executive Vice President of Governments & Institutions Services of SGS SA. He initially joined the Company, in 1986 as Vice President of the Economic Affairs Division, and rejoined in 1999. From 1995 till 1998, he served as Chief Executive Officer at Unilabs International. From 1999 till 2003, he served as Head of Global Marketing, Trade Assurance Services (now known as Governments & Institutions Services) at the Company. From 2003 till 2006, he held the position of Executive Vice President, Automotive Services. Prior to this, he headed the Operation and Business Development in the Trade Assurances Division from 1998. In 1995, he served for Unilabs S.A. as General Manager of its international division based in London and then Geneva. From 1980 till 1987, he held several positions at the World Economic Forum. He also has been Member of the Bureau Permanent CITA, International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee in Brussels, Belgium, since 2005. Since 2006, he has been also Member of the Honorary Committee of FISITA, International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies in London, the United Kingdom. He holds a Masters degree in Economics.
