Shentu Richard

Biography

Richard Shentu is Executive Vice President, Consumer & Retail Services at SGS Ltd since September 2015. Before this appointment, Richard had been the Managing Director of SGS China since 2010. Richard joined SGS in China in 1990. With over 25 years at SGS, he has held a series of leadership positions in China, including Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Director of Consumer Testing Services, Executive Director and eventually the Managing Director of SGS China. He has also served in different global positions in both the Consumer Testing Services, and Industrial divisions. Between 2005 and 2011, Richard was the Vice President of Consumer Testing Services Global, in charge of various global development roles, including Automotive Parts, General Retailer, Hardline, and Toys and Juvenile Products. In 2012, Richard was appointed Vice President of Industrial Global. He was responsible for the global business development of the Transportation, Equipment and Machinery segments. Richard earned his first degree in Textile Engineering. He also has an MBA and PhD in Management Science.
