Biography
Dr Evgeny G. Mironov has received his Bachelor and Master degrees from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2008 and 2010, respectively. The focus of his undergraduate research was on synthesis of polycrystalline materials made of diamond, cobalt and boron and investigation of the mechanical properties of the obtained composites. In 2011, Dr Mironov started PhD studies at the University of New South Wales Canberra at the Australian Defense Force Academy. He was working on the infrared plasmonic devices including nano-antennas, metamaterials, waveguides and lasers. At the same time he was a visiting student at the Australian National University, where he was conducting experiments at the Australian National Fabrication Facility. Thanks to his impressive nano-fabrication work, Dr Mironov was interviewed by the Australian Broadcast Corporation Radio journalists. His other achievement includes a commemorative nano-art structure devoted to the 100th anniversary of ANZAC that the University donated to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. Dr Mironov graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2015 and was awarded the BAE Systems Australia PhD Engineering Prize for the best thesis. During his 4 year studies he published more than a dozen of research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
