Biography
Igor Ostanin has graduated from the Department of Physics and Engineering of Novosibirsk State Technical University in 2008. In 2009 he entered a graduate program of the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Minnesota. In 2010 he obtained his M.S., and in 2014 – Ph.D. degree. His master’s project was related to the development of boundary element techniques in application to problems of geomechanics. His Ph.D. research was concerned with multiscale mechanical modeling of nanostructured materials with distinct element method.
Research Interest
Numerical modeling of the mechanics of solids spanning from numerical techniques of solving partial differential equations to computational material science and multiscale modeling
