Biography
Dr Dubinsky is the founding Director of the Skoltech Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a key component of our Institute that distinguishes it nationwide and serves both theoretical needs of the innovation-oriented education and practical needs of students and researchers intending to transfer technologies or start companies of their own. Ilia brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to this mission gained during his work in the industry and academia, including leading positions at RUSNANO, INFRA Technology, Severstal Group Capital Management, Cambridge Strategic Advisors, International Finance Corporation and others. Ilia’s roles in these organizations included transfer of technologies from labs to markets, formation of IP portfolio, creation of public-private funds (with committed funds of up to US$ 500M), venture funds, venture & technology investments, development and implementation of investment strategies. Over time, he developed interest in education in the Entrepreneurship & Innovation domain that brought him at first to the Skolkovo Foundation and then to Skoltech. Dr Dubinsky graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with an MSc degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics. In addition, he holds an MSc degree in Chemistry from the Catholic University of America. He obtained a PhD degree in Physical Chemistry from MIT.
