Biography
Maria is an expert in stem cell and reproductive biology. Maria graduated with honors from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at Moscow State University of Applied Biotechnology in 2009. She obtained a Candidate of Sciences (PhD equivalent) degree in Biotechnology from Kovalenko Research Institute of Experimental Veterinary Medicine of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2013. Since 2011, Maria has been investigating the molecular and genetic mechanisms of transcriptional regulation that controls stem cells growth, differentiation and development, interface between stem cells and surrounding microenvironment, and signaling pathways for maintaining stemness. Maria gained international research experience by working as a research intern at the Deparmtnet of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology at Konkuk Unversity in Seoul, Republic of Korea in April-July 2016.
