Biography
Vladimir holds the Candidate of Sciences Degree in Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Habilitation in Mathematics from Humboldt University of Berlin. Vladimir’s scientific career features senior research and professorship positions at Institute of Information Transmission Problems of RAS in Moscow, the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics, and at Humboldt University of Berlin. Currently, Vladimir is a Head of a research group at the Institute for Information Transmission Problems RAS, Head of Research Group at the Weierstrass Institute, Professor at Humboldt University, Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. Areas of Vladimir’s research interests include image analysis and its applications to medicine, adaptive nonparametric smoothing and hypothesis testing, high dimensional data analysis, statistical methods in finance and nonlinear nonstationary time series. Vladimir has authored more than 85 scientific publications and served as a member of program committees of a number of professional conferences. Vladimir is also an associate editor of Probability Theory and Applications, and a referee for Annals of Statistics, Econometrica, Journal of the American Statistical Association, and Probability Theory and Related Fields, among others. Vladimir’s professional affiliations include International Statistical Institute, American Statistical Association, Institute of Mathematical Statistics, and Bernoulli Society.
