Biography
1978: Graduated from the National Financial and Economic Correspondence Institute. 1997: Graduated from the Russian Government Academy of the National Economy. Candidate of Sciences (Economics). 1969–1971: Served in the armed forces. 1971–1973: Engineer with the Kursk regional branch of Stroibank, Kursk. 1973–1974: Head of the group of technical control over capital construction with the Kursk regional government's everyday services division, Kursk. 1974–1979: Credit inspector, deputy head of the contracting agencies division, head of the wage fund supervision division at construction of the Kursk regional branch of Stroibank, Kursk. 1979–1985: Deputy head of the division for financing and crediting contracting agencies, manager of the Chara outlet of the Stroibank Baikal-Amur branch, Tynda. 1985–1986: Deputy head of the construction division of the water-line construction company Voronezhvodstroi, Voronezh. 1986–1987: Manager of the Cominternovsky outlet of the State Bank of the USSR (Gosbank), Voronezh. 1988–1990: Deputy head of the Voronezh regional branch of Gosbank and head of the bank co-ordination division of the Voronezh regional branch of Gosbank, Voronezh. 1990–1991: Head of the Voronezh regional branch of Promstroibank, Voronezh. 1991–1992: Chairman of the board of commercial bank Voronezhkreditprombank, Voronezh. 1992–1996: General Manager of joint-stock commercial bank Voronezh, Voronezh. 1996–1999: Deputy to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of 1996–1999 convocation, member of the State Duma Committee on Budget, Taxes, Banks and Finances. 1999–2005: Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. March 16, 2005–August 31, 2017: First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. Member of the Bank of Russia Board of Directors (since 18 October 2013).
