Biography
As Director of Business Development, Valerie oversees business opportunities throughout Europe, focusing mainly on pharmacovigilance, risk management, clinical operations, and peri and post approval studies. In this role, she is responsible for building, facilitating, and optimizing business relationships between biopharmaceutical companies, CROs, and UBC in Europe. She is a content expert in Clinical Operations and Pharmacovigilance. Valerie has more than 20 years of pharmaceutical and biotech industry experience, serving 10-year terms as the Clinical Operations Manager for Sanofi Pasteur and the Director of Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance at Merck Serono. She successfully built a cross-functional, intercultural pharmacovigilance group that spanned three continents. Valerie has also implemented a variety of clinical trials, including developing clinical trial reference centers in Asia and Africa. She joined UBC in 2013. She holds bachelor’s degrees in international business and medical translations for French, English, and Spanish. She also has a master’s degree in health engineering.
