Research Interest
Design, synthesis and method development in drug discovery with special reference to potential anti-cancer and anti-malarial agents.  In vitro screening of compounds on various cancer cell lines and on normal cells.  Investigation of mode of cell killing by flow cytometric analysis of apoptosis/necrosis, cell cycle inhibition, mitochondrial and plasma membrane potential on single cells.  Preparation of research protocols for evaluation by animal ethics committee as well as conducting toxicity and pharmacokinetic studies on animal models.  Identification of potential drugs through medium through-put screening.  Setting up an accredited laboratory for synthesis of lead compounds for drug discovery consortia.  Development of Standard Operating Procedures for the preparation of lead compounds in cancer research
