Biography
University of the Western Cape Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Centre for Nano-electrochemistry & Sensor Technology. 2009-2012 University of the Western Cape PhD 1997-2003 Kenyatta University MSc (Chemistry). 1983 -1986 Kenyatta University BEd(Science) - Graduated with a second class honours, upper division. 1980 - 1981 Nakuru High School Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education – 3 principal passes. 1976 - 1979 Thika High School East African Certificate of Education – Division one.
Research Interest
My research focuses on designing, synthesis and characterization of "Smart" electroactive nanomaterials for application in construction of supercapacitors, Li-ion batteries, water treatment and nanosensors for environmetal pollutants. Additional research interests include analysis and speciation of heavy metals in various environmental compartments.
