Biography

 Danilov-Danilyan V.I. - Director of the Institute of Water Problems, RAS. Graduate of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of MV Lomonosov Moscow State University. Lomonosov Moscow State University. Since 1960 he worked at the Computer Center of the Moscow State University. From 1964 to 1976 - at the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR - scientific employee, leading engineer, head of the laboratory; then in 1976 - 1980 gg. - Head of the Laboratory of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute for System Studies of the State Committee for Science and Technology and the USSR Academy of Sciences, 1980-1991. - Head of the Laboratory, Head of the Chair of the Academy of National Economy under the Council of Ministers of the USSR. In November 1991 he was appointed Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, and in 1996 - Chairman of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Environmental Protection. In 1993-1995 he was a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the first convocation. Director of the Institute of Water Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In combination with 2004, Department of Ecology and Water Resources Management of the Faculty of Ecology of the Russian University of Peoples' Friendship, since 2008 - Department of Sectoral and Natural Resources Management of the Faculty of Public Administration of Moscow State University. Since 2007 - Chief Editor of the publishing house "Encyclopedia", since 2009 - Editor in Chief of the RAS journal "Water Resources". Doctor of Economics, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Awarded the Order of Honor. Laureate of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology.
