Biography
James Stevenson received his undergraduate and PharmD degrees from Wayne State University (WSU), in Detroit, Mich. He joined the faculty of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and served as director of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services for West Virginia University Hospitals. He then assumed the positions of director of the Department of Pharmacy Services at Detroit Receiving Hospital and University Health Center and director of the graduate program in Health-Systems pharmacy management in the WSU College of Pharmacy. In 1997, Stevenson was named executive director of the Department of Pharmacy Services for the Detroit Medical Center. He subsequently assumed the positions of director of the Department of Pharmacy Services in the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers and professor and associate dean at the College of Pharmacy. He was promoted to chief pharmacy officer and chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy in 2011.
