Biography
Vinay Chawla is a Director and oversees market engagement at the Firm. Prior to joining Abraaj, Mr. Chawla served as an American diplomat for 14 years in the US government, focusing on the intersection of foreign policy and economic assistance in growth markets. His assignments included Islamabad, Dubai, Baghdad, Amman, and New Delhi. Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Chawla was the CTO for a start-up microfinance institution in southern India. Prior to his microfinance work, he spent five years in technology and telecommunications consulting at KPMG, a global advisory firm. Mr. Chawla holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors from Northwestern University.
