Biography
Dr. Pope received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University in 1976. Following graduation he joined a small animal practice in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1981 he returned to Auburn University to enter a surgery residency and Master of Science degree program. From 1983 to 1986 he was an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee. In 1986, Dr. Pope achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and joined the faculty at the University of Missouri where he remained until 2007. Dr. Pope helped train 25 surgery residents and approximately 80 interns at these institutions. He joined the RUSVM faculty in 2007 as a professor of small animal surgery.
