Ant Bozkaya

Biography

Dr. Ant Bozkaya is Lecturer and Visiting Scholar of the MIT Sloan School of Management. Dr. Bozkaya is also Visiting Scholar of Harvard Business School jointly with the Innovation Policy and the Economy Fellowship at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He develops teaching materials in entrepreneurial finance and international entrepreneurship at Harvard Business School. He is Senior Research Fellow in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Universite Libre de Bruxelles. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Technology, Healthcare and Energy Enterprise Group at BILKENT GROUP from 1992 to 1999. During his tenure, he started-up a number of ventures including Meteksan information technology group, Bilkent healthcare and hospital construction companies and Bilkent electric-power generation (with Rolls-Royce Power Ventures). He also held senior positions in management consulting with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) at its Istanbul, London and Sydney offices. He was Founder and Director of the Project on Technological Innovation and Turkey at Harvard Kennedy School from 2008 to 2009. He was Research Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Harvard Kennedy School from 2005 to 2009. He serves as a Director at Eczacibasi Holding A.S. He served as Director of the Technology, Healthcare and Energy Enterprise Group from 1992 to 1999. Dr. Bozkaya has been Director of Eczacibasi Holding. He served as an Independent Director of AKSA Akrilik Kimya Sanayii AS until May 30, 2017. He served as a Director of EIS Eczacibasi Ilac, Sinai ve Finansal Yatirimlar Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi. His research interests include policy for innovation and financing of young innovative ventures. His recent publications include Financing Entrepreneurship (with Phil Auerswald, Edward Elgar Publishing, 2008) and Entrepreneurial Finance: Financing of Young Innovative Ventures (Verlag Publishing, 2009). He served as Director of Eczacibasi Yatirim Holding Ortakligi A.S. He was awarded a Science, Technology and Public Policy Fellowship (from 2005 to 2007) to conduct his doctoral dissertation research at Harvard University and holds a PhD in Economics and Management Science and an MBA from Universite Libre de Bruxelles. He completed a second master’s degree from the University of Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) from the Department of Management Science and Finance. Dr. Bozkaya graduated from Department of Industrial Management at the University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia).
