Stephanie von Friedeburg is IFC’s Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Resources. In this position, created in January 2017, Ms. von Friedeburg is responsible for developing IFC’s corporate strategy and ensuring that the institution’s resources are aligned to support the successful implementation of this strategy. Ms. von Friedeburg provides overall direction for all of IFC’s corporate functions, including human resources, IT, budget and administration, facilities, and strategy. Ms. von Friedeburg has 25 years of investment and development experience in the World Bank Group. Prior to her current position, she was World Bank Group Chief Information Officer and Vice President for Information and Technology Solutions. During her five years as CIO, she helped bridge the gap between the business and technology, transforming the role of IT at the Bank Group into that of a strategic business partner. Previously, Ms. von Friedeburg served in a wide variety of roles at the Bank Group, including CIO for IFC, Senior Manager for IFC Global Information and Communication Technologies investment team, and Manager for IFC General Manufacturing Investments in Russia. Ms. von Friedeburg is on the Advisory Board of Box.org, an organization helping nonprofits become more productive and collaborative in achieving their mission. She is also an advocate for the advancement of women in Information and Technology, having co-founded the International Finance Institutions (IFI) Women in IT organization. Ms. von Friedeburg also sits on the Board of the Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union and the Global Business Initiative External Advisory Board for Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, as well as on the CIO Advisory Board for Greylock Partners. In addition to an MBA from the Wharton School, Ms. von Friedeburg holds a Masters of Arts from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
His research interests include fields health care
