Biography

"Mr. Shannon is Somna’s board chair as well as chairman and lead investor in Oshkosh Nanotechnology LLC (now Shamrock Energy Corporation); Proxim Diagnostics of Sunnyvale, California and Aver Informatics of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was most recently biotech company Prodesse’s Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Shannon assumed the position of CEO and board member of the start-up Prodesse in May of 2002 and exited the firm after its sale to Gen-Probe, Inc in November of 2009 for a purchase price of $72 million. In 1996, he founded Shamrock Partners which lead the investment group in Prodesse's initial funding in 2002 as well as the purchase in 1997 of three regional transportation companies in Nebraska and Florida, selling his majority interest in those companies in 2001. Prior to that Mr. Shannon held a variety of senior level management positions in sales and general management as a registered principal for Equitable and its subsidiaries, including Alliance Capital and Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. Other boards he serves on include Promentis Pharmaceuticals, Stemina Biomarker Discovery, OKANJO Partners, Inc. and BizStarts Milwaukee. He holds a Finance degree from the University of Wisconsin and earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Financial Consultant (CHFC) credentials."
