Biography
David Castro is a member of The Abraaj Group’s investment team in Colombia where he is responsible for origination, executing, monitoring and exiting investments. Mr. Castro has more than 10 years of experience in private equity, corporate finance and investment banking in sectors such as retail, FMCG, infrastructure, communications, oil and gas, financial services, real estate and entertainment; he has also been responsible for the financial structuring and obtaining local and international financing for large projects. Prior to joining the Group in 2011, Mr. Castro spent 4 years as Corporate Finance Manager in Alpina Corporativo, one of the largest food companies in Latin America. Mr. Castro holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Los Andes, Colombia. Mr. Castro was also a Navy Officer and holds a degree in Naval Sciences.
