Biography
Fadwa Attiga is Chief Research and Outcome Officer in the healthcare team based in Dubai. Prior to joining Abraaj, Dr. Attiga was the Chief Research Officer at the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. There she established the clinical research infrastructure which enabled patients in international and industry-sponsored clinical trials access to new therapies and generated revenue to support research. She also developed the first hospital cancer registry to track patients’ diagnosis, treatment and outcome. Prior to that, Dr. Attiga spearheaded efforts to establish the first healthcare research think tank at the King Hussein Institute for Biotechnology and Cancer. Authoring several publications and book chapters about cancer biology and the status of cancer care in the Arab World, Dr. Attiga has consulted on the development of several national cancer control plans in the region and also planned cancer screening programs for breast and colon cancer. Recently, Dr. Attiga established the Research Compliance Program at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), a private graduate research university in Saudi Arabia. Holding a PhD in Oncology from the George Washington University in DC, USA, Dr. Attiga is also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a Project Management Professional (PMP).
