Biography
"Karim Mhirsi is a Director in the Energy Infrastructure Team, where he is in charge of developing and structuring several early stage power generation projects. Prior to joining Abraaj, Mr. Mhirsi was developing, on behalf of Themis, private sector-led infrastructure projects in Africa. Prior to Themis, Mr. Mhirsi was a Chief Investment Officer at the African Development Bank Private Sector Department responsible for infrastructure finance, where he closed seven transactions of over US$400 million in total direct investments. He was previously an Engagement Manager at Siticom, a Paris-based consulting firm focusing on transport and ICT sectors, and a System Engineer at Lucent Technology in the United Kingdom. Mr. Mhirsi holds an Engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique, a Masters degree in Electric Engineering from ENST in Paris and an MBA from INSEAD. He speaks English, French and Arabic fluently."
