Biography
Dr. Abdul Ahad Shaikh is senior lecturer of Neurophysiology in the college of medicine. Dr. Shaikh is medical graduate and received his MBBS degree from Sindh Medical College, University of Karachi, Pakistan. He earned his M. Phil. in medical physiology from Ziauddin Medical University, Karachi. Dr. Shaikh has a considerable teaching experience in traditional as well as problem based learning medical physiology curriculum for undergraduate in medical, dental, pharmacy and physical therapy. He has attended many workshops related to medical education, problem based learning (PBL), team based learning (TBL), exercise physiology and sports medicine. He was a core member of the group at Ziauddin Medical University for developing an indigenous PBL curriculum and successfully implementing for the first time in Pakistan. He also helped in developing and teaching exercise physiology for Masters of Physical Therapy course. At King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences Riyadh Saudi Arabia he taught medical physiology adopting the University of Sydney curriculum for three years. At University of Sharjah he taught medical physiology to medical, dental and pharmacy students adopting Monash University curriculum for five years. He has presented couple of papers in international medical education and sports science conferences. He has interest in physiology and medical education research has applied for grants and pursuing it.
