Biography
Born in Varazze (Savona -Northern Italy) Sept 20th 1949 married, two children Chiara (b.1973), Enrico (b.1975). Three grandchildren: Francesco, Gherardo, Tommaso. Non-smoker. Language spoken : English fluent, French, fluent, German A2, Italian Mother tongue. Graduated summa cum laude, silver medal and Thesis publication in Medicine (Licensed MD) at Genoa University Italy in 1973 with a joint thesis at Brown University, Pawtucket Memorial Hospital under the mentorship of Professor G. Baldini. PhD In viral Oncogenesis (Genoa 1976) MSc in Health Administration , Bocconi (Milan, 1987) Diploma in Tropical Parasitology, St Pancras Hospital, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (London 1993) Scientific interests in Tropical Infections, Sexually transmitted diseases, hepatitis C, Hospital Acquired infections, Mother to child infections, Antibiotic resistance. Loving history, music of Italian baroque period and gardening.
