Biography
r. Sabri Kemahli is a Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology. He has graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Ankara University in 1978 as an MD. He has completed his training for Pediatrics (1984) and Pediatric Hematology (1989) at the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara University. He has served as Associate Professor from 1989-1997 and as Professor from 1997-2011 in the Division of Pediatric Hematology at the same institution. He is one of the faculty members who has established the Department of Medical Education at Ankara University and worked in this department between 1999-2009. He has also worked as the founder and director of Ankara University Serpil Akdag Blood Centre (1997-2009). He has received the ECFMG International Fellowship in Medical Education and has worked at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) in 2000 for 9 months. He has served as the Vice-Dean for Education at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine (1996-2000 and 2005-2008). During that time he was instrumental for the major curriculum reform in establishing a problem-based integrated curriculum to replace the traditional. He was a member of the MEDINE (Medical Education in Europe) Thematic Network group to define the learning outcomes for European medical schools. He has worked at Al Kharj University (Salman bin Abdulaziz University) College of Medicine as Professor of Pediatrics and Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs between 2009-2011. His major areas of interest are Medical Education, hemostasis-thrombosis thalassemia and hemoglobinopathies, blood banking and transfusion medicine.
