Biography
Stephanos Ioannou is a neuroscientist who was born and raised in Limassol, Cyprus. At an early age of his career he specialised in psychology at the University of Leicester, where a passion for the functioning of the brain arose. Dedication and hard work, allowed him to follow an MSc in Functional Neuroimaging with a specialty in fMRI. In 2011, he was awarded a fellowship under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, undertaken at the University of Parma, where he also completed a funded Phd in Neuroscience, under the wing of Professor Vittorio Gallese. Stephanos has set the foundations of thermal infrared methodology and how variations in facial temperature relate to the autonomic nervous system, critically advancing the field of psychophysiology. Stephanos current work focuses on social & affective neuroscience, temperature and disease, artificial intelligence as well as pharmacological fMRI.
