Biography
Dr. Ahmed Alanazi is the chair of the Finance department at the College of Business (CoB) at Alfaisal University since January 2016. Ahmed has accomplished his Ph.D. in Finance at Griffith University, Australia, 2013. His Ph.D. thesis titled "Three Essays on Initial Public Offerings: Evidence from the Six Countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council". The thesis was an extensive empirical and theoretical examination of the IPOs performances that occurred in the GCC region between 2003 and 2010. He has also emphasized greatly on research based work and has published many articles in prominent international journals such as the Applied Economics, the Multinational Financial Management and the Corporate Control and Ownership journals. His research interests extend to cover the financial markets in the GCC, IPOs and corporate governance. Currently, Dr. Ahmed is doing research on the profitability of technical analysis and Forex market. He has developed a new course, which is offered now at the CoB under the title “Financial Trading Strategies”. This course will give students an exposure to the real markets practice and trading.
