Biography
Dr. Hayfaa Tlaiss is the Chair of the Management Department and an Associate Professor of Strategy and Organizational Behavior at the College of Business at Alfaisal University. She holds a PhD from Manchester Business School, a Diploma of University Teaching from University of New Brunswick, Saint John, a Master's in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Lebanese American University. Dr. Tlaiss also passed her Financial Risk Management (FRM) exam and level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Prior to joining Alfaisal University, Dr. Tlaiss held various teaching and administrative positions at University of New Brunswick, Saint John, Odette Business School, University of Windsor, University of Manchester, Lebanese American University, Institute for Financial Analysts, and others. Dr. Tlaiss has published several book-chapters and her articles have appeared in top tier, peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Business Ethics, International Small Business Journal, and International Journal of Human Resource Management. Her research has received international attention and has been widely recognized through various awards including the "Outstanding Paper Award by the Literati Network Awards for Excellence" in 2012 and the Academy of Management (AOM) award for the best symposium in the "Management Education and Development" division in AOM's annual meeting in 2009. Dr. Tlaiss is actively involved with the business world through her consultancy and training activities. She has also chaired a number of international meetings and serves on the editorial/organizing boards and as a reviewer for several journals and conferences. She also serves as a director on the Board of Directors of a number of for profit and non-profit organizations. Dr. Tlaiss teaches a number of courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels, and delivers international workshops to professionals and managers. Dr. Tlaiss is particularly interested in conducting research and supervising students interested in researching strategy, career studies and organizational development, entrepreneurship, diversity and management related issues in developing countries, emerging economies and the Middle East.
