Biography
Dr. Ramazan Demirboga received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University and Dumlupinar University, Turkey, in 1992 and 1995, respectively. He completed his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering, Construction Materials, in civil Engineering, at the Ataturk University, Turkey, in 1999. He is currently a full Professor at the Architectural Engineering Department, the College of Engineering, Alfaisal University, Saudi Arabia. He has taught at different international universities. He has authored more than 100 journal publications and refereed conference publications. His primary research goals are directed to investigate the usability of solid wastes in the construction of concrete structures in addition of inorganic-based sustainable materials such as green concrete, geopolymeric binders, nano materials that address a unique spectrum of challenges and issues facing sustainable structural materials. He has used different waste solids in both concrete and cement production as aggregate or supplementary and made significant contributions to meso- and microstructure characterization and multi-scale properties of structural materials incorporating “green cements”, low-thermal conductivity and low density. He used lab-based, micro- and nano-technologies to develop green concretes, evaluate mechanical and durability characteristics at varying scales and develop mixing strategies. He received the Outstanding Research incentive award from many institutes. Dr.Demirboga has developed and completed more than 20 Research Projects with international partners from Ohio State University, University Putra Malaysia and Ataturk University. He supervised many masters and Ph.D students. He has taught different courses related to the construction materials and structural engineering at graduate and undergraduate level.
