Biography

 H.E. Nabil Al-Molla received a B.S. in Chemistry/Biology, from King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1974 and M.A. in Chemistry, University of Denver, Colorado, USA, 1978. He started his career as a lecturer in the College of Science, King Saud University. He joined Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) 1978 as a Chemical Analyst, then assumed several positions that included Director of Chemical Industries, Director General for Standards, Deputy Director General (1987-2005), and at last Director General and Governor of SASO (2005-2012). H.E. Nabil is a member of many national and international organisations, such as Member of ISO Council (2011-2012), Member of the Council of Saudi Food and Drug Authority (2005-2012), Member and Secretary-General of King Abdul-Aziz Quality Award (2005-2012), Member of Saudi Consumer Protection Association (2008-2012), Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) (2008-2011) and Member of the Board of ASTM International (2014-2016). He chairs/ed the Board of the Saudi Accreditation Committee, the Commission on Developing Future Strategy of the Kingdom for 2020, the Training and Scholarship Committee and the Higher Consulting Committee for Standards and Metrology for the Arab Countries (AIDMO). He represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in many meetings of regional and international standardisation organisations (GSO, AIDMO, ISO, IEC, OIML, BIPM, ILAC, IAF). He conducted several researches in relation to priorities of GCC standards, control of traffic, protection against counterfeit, cosmetics, halal food, quality issues and was awarded with numerous merit awards. He led the GCC Accreditation Center (GAC) to be an internationally recognised body in (ILAC) when he was the Director General of the GCC Accreditation Center (GAC) until 20 June 2016. Currently he holds the position as Secretary General of GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) since April 2012.
