Biography
" Dr. Reyad A. Shawabkeh is a professor of chemical engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. Dr. Shawabkeh earned his doctorate degree in Chemical engineering from New Mexico State University, USA, 1998. His areas of interest are Synthesis of Activated Carbon, Adsorption of Pollutants onto Naturally and Synthesized Materials, Photocatalytic and electrocatalytic reactions, Nanotechnology and Carbon Capture and Utilization. With Dr. Rohn Bhada and Dr. David Rockstraw, Dr. Shawabkeh has received the American Academy of Environmental Engineers' Environmental Excellence Award in 1998, Research Grand Prize, the first time this award was given to an academic research project. The award was presented for research on the conversion of pecan shells to activated carbon. Professor Shawabkeh is an Engineer Intern in the State of New Mexico-USA."
