Biography

I awarded my Ph.D. through channel-scheme between Hull University, UK and Cairo University, Egypt in 1998. My thesis was entitled ’’ Hard Coating for Metal Forming Tools and Injection Moulds”. In this work comprises a study of the deposition and characterization of TiN coatings of different thicknesses in AISI M2 substrates heat treated to different hardness. The effect of both substrate hardness and coating thickness on coating tribological performance was evaluated. New findings on the impact wear behavior of TiN tempered M2 substrate were highlighted. An innovation design of segmented die design was introduced. In this part we proved that segmented die design can reduce the risk of tool fracture in operation. I have 20 years teaching experience on Engineering drawing, mechanical drawing, mechanical design, tribology, surface failure, injection mold design, design for manufacturing, jigs and fixtures design, strength of materials (mechanics of materials), machine tool design, CAD and finite element analysis. Also I worked with industries for more than 15 years. I involved in many projects such as Design, manufacturing and installation of packing machine, mechanical feeder, air handling system, vibratory conveyors, shakers and belt conveyor, reverse engineering for spare parts, modelling and analysis of drum brakes for, inspection of local spare parts using CMM Brown & Sharpe and material analysis using EDX, design of large tanks according to API 650, design and implementation of water intake system for power station and control system, design of pipe line for power station, design and manufacturing of calibrations bench for NIS, bearing failure analysis, design of spreader to left 275 ton diffuser and modification of 8 ton motor base using finite element analysis.
