Biography

"PROFESSOR : SULAIMAN A ALSHAMMARI ,MBBS,MSc,FRCGP,MFPH is Saudi national. He was graduated from college of medicine , King saud university 1983 and later on he obtained Master Degree in Primary Care (Family medicine)1986 from the same university. In 1987 he became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. He became fellow of The Royal College of General Practitioners in 1998. Then he was awarded membership of the faculty of public health of the Royal colleges of Physicians of United Kingdom (MFPH)2013 through distinction .Currently he is professor and Consultant Family and Community Physician College of Medicine and University Hospitals, Riyadh. Chairman Health Education Center and supervisor of research chair on health education and health promotion ,College Medicine and King Saud University Hospitals. Formerly Deputy Chairman of Scientific Council of Family Medicine, Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, Chairman of Examination Committee , Scientific Council of Family Medicine,Arab Board for Medical Specialties and director of postgraduate program in family medicine. Also he was part time and short time consultant to ministry of health and world health organization. He was the director of primary care clinics in KKUH AND KAUH. SPECIAL INTEREST IN Health system research, health education and health promotion ,care of chronic diseases and the elderly. Activily participated in several National and International Meetings with more than seventy publucations in national and international peer refereed journals. Active member of several committees within and outside the university. Postgraduate courses in professional and higher education. The following courses were attended: 1.The National University of Singapore Course on education for healthcare professionals 2012.2.Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh (UK) course on professional and higher education 2011.3. Courses of Deanship of Skills Development at King Saud niversity for teaching staff which account for 112 hours. Referee to the scientific councils of some Saudi Universities, Gulf University of Bahrain, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and Reviewer to several medical journals. Member of several professional organizations"
