Biography
Immediately after graduating from the Accounting Department of King Saud University in 1984, Mr. Al-Rowais joined Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) in the Banking Control Department where he spent most of his career there in the supervision of the stock market and Islamic banking products. In 1996 Mr. Rowais left SAMA and joined SABIC as a Director of Finance. He led project finance for SABIC new ventures, expansion projects and acquisitoins. In 2002 Mr. Al-Rowais joined Ma'aden as Treasurer and was promoted to Executive Director of Corporate Planning in 2008 and CFO in 2011. Since March 2016, Mr Rowais has led the Ma’aden Phosphate and Industrial Minerals Businesses. Mr. Rowais is a registered CPA in the USA and a member of the AICPA.
