Biography
Eng. Al-Watban has been Vice President of Strategy and Development since March 2016. He was appointed Ma'aden Vice President for Phosphate in August 2013 in addition to being the president of Ma’aden Phosphate Company since 2011. He earned his Bachelors’ degree in mechanical engineering from University of Basrah in 1985. Prior to joining Ma’aden, Eng. Al-Watban held leading positions in multiple Saudi industries including the Chairman of the Arabian Industrial Fibers Company (Ibn Rushd) – a SABIC subsidiary; the Vice President for Projects and Engineering of Marafiq; and the Technical and Project Director of Safco – a SABIC subsidiary.
