Massimiliano Leopardi

Biography

Massimiliano joined Sadara Chemical Company as Chief Financial Officer in July, 2014, bringing with him a wealth of experience spanning almost 20 years in the finance and petrochemical industries. In his new role, Massimiliano plays a key role in the continued growth of Sadara, serving as an integral and strategic member of its senior management team, and is primarily responsible for the management of the company's present and future financial position, and building a strong and capable financial team to support the company's business and operations. Massimiliano's career at Dow spanned various global positions prior to being appointed to his current role. He most recently served as senior finance director with Dow Chemical for Sadara, beginning in 2011, where he has been directly involved in managing the financial activities of the Aramco-Dow JV. He was also instrumental in the execution of the Sadara joint venture formation in 2010, when he was serving as Dow's Director of Mergers & Acquisitions for the EMEA region. Prior to that, in 2008, Massimiliano was appointed Global Finance Director for Styrenics as well as the Hydrocarbons & Energy Finance Director for the EMEA region. This dual role included leading the restructuring of Dow's Styrenics portfolio globally, as well as managing the Dow petrochemical portfolio in EMEA. Massimiliano has held a number of other leadership roles in Europe during his time with Dow , which began when he joined the company in Milan, Italy in 1998 after beginning his career in trading and portfolio management at HSBC in 1995. Massimiliano holds an MBA in Business Administration, specializing in Financial Markets from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
