Biography

Milica Petrović was born on May 13, 1982 in Kragujevac. She finished elementary school and gymnasium in Kragujevac, after which she enrolled at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade and obtained her Master of Biological Sciences (ecology and environmental protection). She continued her further education at the international multidisciplinary master course at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, in cooperation with the Vienna University of Vienna, where she was awarded the Environmental Engineer in Agriculture Master. After completing master studies, Milica Petrović enrolled her doctoral studies at the Department of Botany of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, where she actively engaged in the research of halofite vegetation, sustainable management of lawns, healing and aromatic herbs of specific habitats as well as measures for the protection of natural ecosystems. Milica Petrović has significant practical experience in writing project proposals and project management in the field of ecology and environmental protection. She also participated in various international and national trainings in the field of project writing as well as professional refinement in the country and abroad in the field of nature protection. Milica is one of the organizers of ecological and research camps for students in the biosphere reserve Golija-Studenica, as well as a national coordinator for the implementation of the environmental education program within the International Foundation for Environmental Education . In addition to scientific, fieldwork and practical work in these areas, Milica is actively engaged in mountaineering and photography.
