Biography
Dr Yap Yan Lin is presently a Consultant with the Division of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. She completed her advanced surgical training in Plastic Surgery in National University Hospital and is registered as a plastic surgeon in 2013. She was awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award for which she underwent a year of specialty fellowship training in breast reconstruction and oncological/ trauma reconstructions in Sunnybrook Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada under the supervision of Dr Joan Lipa and Dr Laura Snell.
Research Interest
Her clinical interests include reconstructive microsurgery in particular reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery as well as oncological and trauma reconstruction (reconstruction post skin cancer ablation, abdominal and pelvic reconstruction and extremity reconstruction). Her research interest is in cancer research. She was awarded the Exxon Mobil Research Fellowship and the Clinician Leadership in Research Award in 2008-2009 for her work in gastric cancer migration and adhesion.
