Yat Chung Ng

Biography

Mr. Yat Chung Ng has been the Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Press Holdings Limited September 1, 2017 and as its Executive Director since August 1, 2016. Mr. Ng served as the Chief Executive Officer and Group President of Neptune Orient Lines Limited from October 2011 to June 2016. He served as the Acting President of APL Logistics Ltd. Mr. Ng served as Senior Managing Director of Corporate Development, Portfolio Management and Systems at Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited. He served as the Chief of Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces. During his 28 year career in the Singapore Armed Forces, he commanded various units and served in senior staff positions including Chief of Staff (Joint Staff) and Chief of Army. Mr. Ng serves as the Chairman of the Singapore Institute of Technology. He also held different portfolios with Temasek Holdings between 2007 and 2011, after holding various positions with the Ministry of Defence, including as the Chief of Defence Force from July 2003 to April 2007. He has been a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of SPH REIT Management Pte. Ltd. He serves as a Director of The United Kingdom Mutual Steam Ship Assurance Association (Bermuda) Limited. He served as a Director of Neptune Orient Lines Limited since June 2016 until September 14, 2016. Previously, he served as Non-Executive Independent Director of Singapore Press Holdings Limited from August 1, 2016 to July 1, 2017. He served as an Executive Director of Neptune Orient Lines Limited from May 1, 2011 to June 2016. He is a member of the Board of the World Shipping Council, a member of the International Advisory Panel of the Singapore Maritime Institute and the Singapore Advisory Panel of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He served as a Trustee of National University of Singapore and a Director of Singapore Power Ltd., since April 1, 2010. He was given the Meritorious Service Medal (Military) in 2007, among many other public service awards. Mr. Ng graduated with Honours in Engineering from University of Cambridge in 1983.
