Jimmy Wang

Biography

 As senior vice president and chief information officer, Jimmy Wang has overall responsibility for global information technology at AMRI. Dr. Wang came to AMRI with 15 years of experience in the field, most recently as senior vice president and chief information officer at OPKO Health, where he established the company’s global IT governance process and transformed IT into a centralized delivery organization. For Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he was senior vice president and global CIO, he managed implementation, consolidation and support of enterprise operations support systems. From 2006 to 2012, he was vice president and CIO for Teva Pharmaceuticals Americas, where he led the IT organization to support the North America generic and branded pharmaceuticals divisions, as well as the Latin American operation. He managed IT integration for multiple acquisitions and established centralized IT systems and shared services. Dr. Wang also served as corporate vice president and CIO for IVAX Corporation. He holds a Ph.D. in operations research and a master’s in operations research and engineering management from Southern Methodist University. Dr. Wang was a member of the governing body of the Global CIO Executive Summit and was selected as one of the 100 Premier IT leaders by Computerworld and Top 100 CIOs by CIO Magazine. During his leadership, Teva was ranked among the Top 50 IT organizations by InformationWeek in 2010.
