Ms Susan Soh

Biography

Ms Susan Soh is the Managing Director and Country Head of Schroders Singapore. She also heads the Southeast Asian Distribution business. Ms Soh has almost 30 years' of financial industry experience, spanning across different areas of investment banking before specialising in Fund Management. She has been instrumental in driving Schroders to successfully secure various institutional mandates in equities, fixed income and multi assets from South East Asian central banks, national pensions as well as national institutions. In the retail mutual fund distribution industry, she has led Schroders to become a dominant player in both Singapore and Malaysia. She has also made significant contribution to the growth and development of the Singapore asset management industry. She served as a member of the IMAS Complexity Risk Framework Review Committee in 2012/2013 and currently sits on the Executive Committee of the Investment Management Association of Singapore (IMAS). She is also a long-serving member of the MAS-CAD Panel of Experts on Securities Offences. Ms Soh has also been a passionate advocate of raising industry standards and driving professional excellence. She serves as a member of the IBF Standards Committee and chairs the IBF Fund Management Working Group. Susan is also a member of the IBF Branding and Marketing Workgroup, where she provided invaluable inputs in the development of IBF's brand positioning and offering strategic guidance on the marketing of the IBF Standards.

Research Interest

The Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore (IBF) was established in 1974 as a not-for-profit industry association to foster and develop the professional competencies of the financial sector. IBF represents the interests of close to 200 member financial institutions covering banks, insurance companies, securities brokerages and asset management firms. IBF works closely with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) , the financial industry and financial training providers to empower financial practitioners with capabilities for a robust Asian financial industry. IBF administers regulatory and industry examinations and training grant schemes offered by the Financial Sector Development Fund (FSDF) in Singapore. IBF is currently the national accreditation and certification agency for financial industry competency in Singapore under the IBF Standards. These Standards are developed in partnership with industry leaders, and provide a professional development and skills roadmap for financial sector practitioners to excel in their respective job roles. IBF also organises events to promote best practices and facilitate discussion on industry trends and developments.
