Mr. Tay Kah Chye

Biography

Mr. Tay Kah Chye has been appointed as Non-Executive Lead Independent Director of the Company, with effect from 18 May 2016. He joined the Board in January 2008. He graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) degree, majoring in Economics, from the University of Singapore. Mr Tay is currently the Executive Chairman of CLMV Consult Net Private Limited, a regional consulting company headquartered in Singapore. He retired from his position as Chairman and Chief Executive Office of Monsoon Investments Holding Private Limited on 31 December 2012. From 1991 to 2007 Mr Tay was the President and Chief Executive Officer of ASEAN Finance Corporation, a regional merchant bank based in Singapore and owned by leading financial institutions from the ASEAN. He was concurrently the Secretary General of ASEAN Bankers Association during that period and served as the Honorary Advisor from 2008 to 2010. Mr Tay has vast experience in banking and finance are held various positions in Citibank Singapore banking operations from 1973 to 1991, leaving as the Vice President and Group Head of the Corporate Marketing Group. Mr Tay is an independent director of Wilmar International Limited. He retired as an independent director of Cambodia Mekong Bank Public Company Limited on 31 January 2013, with his last appointment as Chairman of the Board.
