Biography
M. S. (Scott) Sharp is executive vice president, Manufacturing at Chevron Phillips Chemical. In addition to overseeing Chevron Phillip Chemical’s global manufacturing operations, Sharp is responsible for the Projects organization, including commissioning and start-up of the USGC Petrochemicals Project. He also leads the company’s Global Procurement and joint ventures in Qatar. Previously, he was the senior vice president of Manufacturing; vice president of Projects and vice president of the company’s Qatar operations. In addition to those leadership roles, he also served as vice president, Environmental, Health. Safety, and Security and was plant manager at the Pasadena Plastics Complex and the Q-Chem joint venture facility in Mesaieed, Qatar. Prior to the formation of the Chevron Phillips Chemical joint venture in 2000, Sharp held multiple manufacturing, operations and plant management positions with Chevron Chemical. He began his career in 1979 with Standard Oil of California in Richmond, California, and served in a variety of refining and technology positions. Sharp graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1979.
