Matthew Wong

Biography
Dr. Matthew Wong qualified from the Royal London Hospital, University of London, United Kingdom in 2009, and subsequently obtained his MJDF post-graduate diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons. He continued to practice dentistry in UK until he moved to Singapore in 2014 to join the team. Before joining DP Dental, Dr. Wong was heavily involved with dental education in the UK. He was the lecturer and tutor for the regional dental nursing school diploma course, and was also an appointed mentor for local newly qualified dentists. With years of experience in the private sector, Dr. Wong has a special interest in Aesthetic Dentistry, but stresses the importance of gum health and oral hygiene to ensure patients have a stable mouth to begin with. He is especially keen on helping nervous or dental-phobic patients to overcome their anxiety, and he was able to convert a large number of them over the years. Dr. Wong aims to provide care for his patients with the most up-to-date and modern techniques and equipment, and insist on using only plain, simple sentences to explained and talk through treatment options in detail. On top of attending continuing education courses on Laser Dentistry, CEREC CAD/CAM prosthetics and Invisalign Orthodontics, he is currently working towards a UK diploma in Dental Acupuncture to aid management of anxiety, gag reflexes and jaw aches. Outside the clinic, Matthew is a keen landscape photographer, and when he is not in his kitchen relentlessly trying (and failing) to become a world-respected chef, he spends his remaining spare time training as a Wing Chun martial artist.
