Amy Dolan

Biography

  Amy is an Irish Speech and Language Therapist who studied at the University College Cork, Ireland. She is fully registered with Allied Health Professions Council in Singapore. Amy has experience working in private clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centres, community clinics, mainstreams schools, and language units as well as schools for children and adolescents with learning difficulties and mental health challenges. Prior to joining Dynamics, Amy worked in a private speech and language therapy clinic and as a home tutor facilitating children with a variety of speech and language challenges, as well as working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorders, global developmental delay, and learning difficulties. She has also had experience in facilitating children using alternative communication methods such as Lamh (a sign language for children with special needs) and in supporting children using the Picture Exchange Communication System. The ability to support a child in reaching their full communicative potential is an aspect of speech and language therapy that Amy most enjoys. In line with this principal Amy has completed the Hanen Centre Certified course, “It Takes Two To Talk”. This allows Amy to support parents in communicating with their child effectively and transfer skills learned in therapy to home. Amy believes strongly in the power of play and its influence on language development. She has completed training on the administering of the, “Child Initiated Pretend Play Assessment”, under the direction of Dr. Karen Stignitti, the assessment’s author. Amy enjoys providing a fun environment for a child to reach their full potential and works closely with everybody involved in the child’s care to achieve this.
