Biography
Mr Steve Ting is a Managing Partner of Gryphus Capital. He was the Executive Chairman and Director of British Telecom (BT) Frontline Asia Pacific from March 2008 till October 2010. Prior to that, he was the Founder and Executive Chairman of Frontline Technologies Corporation Limited; a Company listed in the main board of Singapore Exchange since 2001 and acquired by British Telecom in 2008, which changed the company name to BT Frontline. Mr Ting is a veteran in the information communication technology industry with more than 25 years of experience. He has held several management positions in various multi-national corporations such as Hewlett Packard and Mentor Graphics Inc, USA. He started his first company, Frontline Technologies in 1994. In the short span of 6 to 7 years, Frontline has expanded its presence from Singapore to 9 countries in Asia Pacific and employed about 5,800 employees. Mr Ting was primarily responsible for the inorganic expansion and integration of Frontline Group, which includes acquisition of several companies in countries such as China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, and also the formation of joint ventures in countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines. Mr Ting has been very active in mentoring and providing guidance to start-ups and private companies in Asia Pacific. Mr Ting graduated from the National University of Singapore with Bachelor of Engineering degree. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Singapore (Business Services & Technology) in 2002 and the NUS Centennial Entrepreneurship Award in 2005.
